The Interstellar Commerce Council[]
ICC regulations govern how we conduct our business. In the modern era, the ICC ensures there are noncorporate interests in the galaxy, so that corporations like us have viable consumer bases aside from fellow corporate interests.
Additionally, the ICC imposes regulations upon corporate practices, to ensure business is fair.
The ICC permits planetary corporate holdings (such as many of ours!) but does a great deal to ensure no company holds a true monopoly on any good. This ensures competition and ensures that prices are reasonably attainable for the noncorporate citizen consumer.
The ICC exists in three effective houses: The House of Corporations, with representatives from all member corporations; the House of Commons, with representatives from free colonies; and the Council of 9, the ICC oversight committee. The Council of 9 is strictly independent of either corporate or common interests; they are intended to be an objective judiciary committee.
A point of note: PCO is denied telepaths within ICC sessions, hence the Psi-Corps family including non-telepaths.
Unlike many corporate interests, we rather like the ICC. You, therefore, must like them.
